BDS Electrical FM carry out Electrical Contracting, Testing and Inspection under NICEIC Accreditation. We also with our parent company BDS Fire and Life Safety Systems Design, Supply, Install and Maintain Fire and Security Systems to British Standards and to BAFE SP203-1 Certification
Length of projects:
We have just completed an Electrical Contracting and Fire Alarm Installation project at Ford Motor Company – Southampton, successfully and to the customer’s satisfaction, on time and within budget. This project was started last August and handed over in April this year. Approximately 8 month’s duration
Size of projects, in terms of manpower and value of the contract:
The above contract was £750K and we have just won the order for Ford Motor Company Dunton (New Fire Alarm Networked System and Electrical Contracting) for £2.4Million. This contract will be in four x six month phases starting in September 2015 completing in 2019. Each 6 month phase will be manned by a 10 strong team. We currently have 29 people directly employed by the company with approximately 50 individual approved / vetted electrical sub-contractors / engineers who we use on a regular basis
Current projects:
The newly won order above for FMC Dunton plus various other projects of electrical contracting/ fire alarm work for Ford at Daventry, Dagenham, Bridgend and Dunton. Also working on projects for Bancroft and Kings College Hospital NHS Trust in the city of London
Customer base:
BDS Electrical FM are a Tier 1 Electrical and Fire Detection & Alarm supplier to Ford Motor Company and also supply to the NHS, other main clients are G4S, NG Bailey, Wilson Construction, Norland, Bancroft and ISG
National coverage or just local to your business:
The main areas of work undertaken have predominantly been in the South East of England but we have also worked on projects / covered sites from Southampton to Liverpool, including Daventry. We are open to new projects on a UK nationwide basis

BDS are an ISO 9001 accredited company for our Quality Management System, audited and inspected bi-annually by the UKAS accredited NSI (National Security Inspectorate)
- We hold their certification NSI Fire Gold and also BAFE SP203-1 certification
- We are NICEIC accredited for our Electrical Contracting and Test & Inspection works
- We have the SSIP Health and Safety accreditation CHAS and are also ConstructionLine Registered
- We have also undergone Ariba registration for Norland
- We are members of the Fire Trade association the FIA and also IHEEM (Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management)
We have also worked for, indirectly and also in conjunction with, Horiba UK in the Test Cells at Ford Motor Company – Dunton. Additionally we have carried out direct FMC works on Engine Evaluation Test Cells at Dagenham
